As a visitor to a cancer information site you have a right to expect that your personal privacy will be respected. Your privacy is important to us. To better protect your privacy, we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.
This site, psa-rising.com, does not sell, rent, trade or give away visitors' e-mail addresses or other personal information. We do log information about how the whole visitor population uses this site (which pages visited by how many, on which dates, using which type of browser, etc.) We use this to improve the content and usability of the site.
If you e-mail us with a comment or question, we will not publish your message unless you explicitly permit us to do so. We will not publish, trade or sell your e-mail address. The information you provide is used to fulfill your specific request.
To register on our blogs and/or leave a public comment, you must use a working e-mail address. You may prefer to ID yourself by first name only or a name you've made up. You can ask us at any time to remove your posts. Our blog software uses tracking cookies to keep registered visitors "logged in" for each session and to authorize a registered visitor to make a post. You can delete tracking cookies from your browser (see links and video below).
In addition, we use a third-party advertising company (Google) to serve ads when you visit our website. As of April 8, 2009, Google will collect non-personal user information on all sites carrying its ads and search forms on an "opt-out" basis. Google promises in its privacy policy:
- Transparency  We provide detailed information about our advertising policies and practices.
- Choice  We offer innovative ways to view, manage and opt out of advertising cookies.
- No personally identifying information  We don't collect or serve ads based on personally identifying information without your permission.
Google states:
"The user information we gather from AdSense sites is used in accordance with Google's privacy policy. It is not used to identify users personally and we don't show ads based on personal information. We also will not show ads based on sensitive information or interest categories, such as those based on race, religion, sexual orientation, health, or sensitive financial categories, without a user's opt-in consent."
